PSS Players is proud once again to present their winter show to the Penetanguishene community! This year’s production will be the witty comedy “Dr. Evil and the Basket of Kittens”, by Brian D. Taylor.
This play sees Dr. Evil, your typical Mad-Scientist-Bent-On-Global-Domination, unveiling her thermal ray to his financial backers, the Council of Evil. However, the doctor’s evil credibility is threatened when a mysterious box of feline fuzzballs shows up unexpectedly at his door. Not one to let a box of cuteness stand in the way of her plans, Dr. Evil decides the kittens must be destroyed (but things seldom go as planned!).
The cast of characters includes vampires, mummies, and were-hyenas for neighbours, just to name a few, with hilarious narration by Dr. Frankenstein and Mary Shelley. There may even be a furry, feline cameo. The whole play has a “steampunk” theme (think industrial-age Western technology, crossed with Victorian fashion). With clothing and props on loan from organizers of the the Coldwater Steampunk festival, the set and costumes of this show are sure to get the audience geared up (pun intended).
The show will run December 4, 5, and 6. December 5th will be another popular presentation of our Dinner Theatre, and $20 dollars will get you a delicious dining experience from our wonderful Hospitality department (tickets need to be purchased in advance). Saturday’s matinee will feature half price tickets (regularly $10), for anybody who makes a donation to the O.S.P.C.A (because, kittens!).
Whether you want to explore your evil side, or bask in the cuteness of kittens, we hope to see you there!
With December just around the corner, the PSS Players are happy to present their winter show, Humbug High. The production, a modern rendition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, explores the valuable themes of gratitude, love, and practising generosity through the holiday season. The performers, stage crew, and production directors are pleased to invite friends, family, and the community to Humbug High’s performances in the first week of December.
On Friday, December 6th our popular dinner theatre option will be available again. Share a delicious meal prepared by the PSS Hospitality students and then enjoy the show! Tickets must be reserved in advance.
This year we are offering something new – a Saturday matinee! This is a great opportunity to bring children to enjoy this classic, heartwarming story. The Saturday performance will feature half price tickets with a non-perishable food donation for the food bank. A Christmas Carol is all about giving at the holidays and the PSS Players want to make that a reality.
Equipped with magnificent costumes, dedicated actors and actresses, and the familiarity of Dickens’ work, the PSS Players’ are more than ready to kick off the holidays. Hope to see you there!
